Advocacy : Early Childhood Workforce
Jointly organized by ARNEC, UNESCO Bangkok and Association of Early Childhood Educators Singapore (AECES), this workshop equips Early Childhood Professionals with the skills to raise the competencies of teachers in their country to deliver social and emotional learning. The training is based on the APETT-SEL Handbook which was written by ARNEC and UNESCO Bangkok.
24 participants from 7 countries came together to learn and share their experiences with one another. Participants include practitioners, members of Early Childhood Councils from their respective nations, psychologists and other teacher training professionals. The variety of expertise and experiences of the participants led to plentiful rich and reflective conversations. Highlights from the training include self-care for teachers, SEL theories and practices in the classroom and inclusivity. Towards the end of the workshop, the participants created an action plan for SEL teacher-training implementation for their countries.
We would like to show appreciation to UNESCO Bangkok, AECES and the participants for the wonderful and successful workshop.
The APETT-SEL ToT training is part of the Early Childhood Workforce Initiative, a global initiative partnered with ISSA, R4D, AfECN and ANECD.
